AMO Editors team hiring a full time editor

Sep 21 (3 days ago) Here
That’d be definitely a big help for the AMO Editors team. More
realistically, though, we just need to bring the queues back down to the
acceptable levels, which are 10 days for full nominations, 5 days for
updates and 3 days for preliminary reviews.

We’re working on some other measures to reduce waiting times, like
hiring a full time editor who joined us last week, but it is unclear at
the moment if this will be sufficient.

Now at Queue Position: 116 of 219 (Day 20)

Now at Queue Position: 116 of 219. Sun Aug 28, 2011
(Day 20).
171-116 = 55 in 5 days or 11 per day
116/11 = 10 days before review or 21 if I upload my next version…
Decision decisions…

OK as I have a big change to the add-on that I want to get to users I will be updating regardless. 🙄

Heh. This is taking so long that I am just going to “go with it” and not stress. 😉

Could an add-ons developer “Game” the preliminary review?

Just occurred to me to wonder at the implications of Bug 656122.
Could a black-hat add-on creator, if such a person actually exists, just keep creating new versions, being bumped to the back of the queue, and never actually be reviewed?

Can I add a new version while waiting for a prelim. review?

Short answer yes, but there is a bug so you go back to the end of the queue.

😦

“jorge-villalobos”Bug 656122,  already exists for this. I’ve given it a higher priority now that I see that this is bigger problem than anticipated.

Oh Dear 😐

Preliminary reviews are appropriate for experimental add-ons and provide a way to get user testing and feedback without going through the longer, more thorough review process. We aim to complete these reviews in under 3 days.
